In December 2008 version 1.3.20.4 was released and we just installed it over the weekend. We had to revert back because it was recording blank audio for some people (not everybody, just a few computers were affected). A theory is that it affects previous versions of windows (2000, 98) as those were the computers that were known to have a problem (we only noticed 5 computers that did not work and they were all 98 or 2000). These same computers were able to record audio into Windows Sound Recorder just fine. They were even able to play audio back (if it had been recorded before the new version). After reverting back they were able to record new audio fine. I was able to record using both the old and new versions (I use Windows XP as most of our users do).
This is some example console output from a computer that could not record:
I have edited the console output and I cut out the beginning and end as it does not capture audio even if you hit stop then play (before uploading).

Has anybody heard anything about this? Windows 2000 users still cannot use this version (but they CAN use the version before it). Java's newest versions do not officially support windows 2000 anymore, perhaps the newer versions of the applet use some newer part of Java that breaks on Windows 2000 machines? (Windows 2000 have tried Java 6 update 10, 11, and 13 and none of them can record audio).
